Kari Clark, O.D.
Kari Clark, O.D., from Plano, TX, graduated from Baylor University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in biology. Dr. Clark attended the University of Houston College of Optometry, where she graduated summa cum laude and earned her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2001.
After over 18 years of group private practice in Plano, Dr. Clark welcomes her former First Eye Care patients and new patients from the surrounding community to her new private practice, Frisco In Focus. It is rewarding to see the familiar faces of long-time patients, neighbors, and friends among her patients.
Dr. Clark is a therapeutic optometrist who is licensed to diagnose and treat ocular disease. In addition, she is an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist and is Board Certified by the American Board of Optometry. Dr. Clark prescribes ophthalmic and oral medications needed to treat eye disease and disorders, including oral antibiotics, glaucoma drops, allergy medications, and dry eye medications.
Dr. Clark fits specialty contact lenses such as multifocal, scleral gas permeable, and hybrid contact lenses; prescribes glasses for general, occupational, and specialty use; performs diabetic eye care examinations; treats glaucoma; manages dry eye; and treats corneal abrasions, ulcers, and infections that require pharmaceutical intervention. She also performs dilated retinal examinations to help diagnose potential systemic conditions such as hypertension, arthritis, diabetes, and multiple sclerosis. Dr. Clark provides LASIK and cataract co-management.
Dr. Clark is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association. She, her husband, and their three children are involved in the Frisco and Plano communities.
Katelyn Ricker, O.D.
Dr. Katelyn Ricker, Therapeutic Optometrist and Glaucoma Specialist, grew up in McKinney, Texas. She attended The University of Arkansas, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. She went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude with her Doctor of Optometry degree from The Southern College of Optometry.
Dr. Ricker completed her clinical training at a pediatric private practice in Fort Smith, Arkansas as well as the Storm Eye Institute at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Through these experiences, she gained valuable training in pediatric care, myopia management, ocular disease, specialty contact lenses, and primary care optometry.
Dr. Ricker believes that exceptional eye care goes beyond just prescribing glasses or contact lenses. She takes the time to thoroughly explain exam findings, answer any questions, and ensure each patient fully understands what’s happening with their ocular health and vision. She knows that no two patients are alike and that’s why her recommendations are tailored to fit each patient’s unique lifestyle, needs, and goals. Dr. Ricker is committed to making sure her patients feel informed, confident, and cared for every step of the way.
Dr. Ricker is an active member of the American Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association, and the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys baking sourdough bread, traveling to new countries, and spending time with her family. As a proud University of Arkansas alum, she’s a devoted Razorbacks fan – especially when basketball season rolls around!
